“Love me, Love me not” Coffee Table
The stone is the star of the show in these tables which were designed by Michael Anastassiades with the specific intention of highlighting the opulence of the marbles chosen for his collection ‘Love Me, Love Me Not’.
In the words of the designer “I wanted to use regal colours which conveyed a sense of the grandiose, through the sumptuousness that is associated with marble. Simultaneously, I didn’t wanted to overwhelm the eye and so it was necessary to strike a balance between this lavishness and the functionality and of lightness of the tables”. Instead of the highly polished look often associated with marble, the designer chose a matt finish so as to bring a more contemporary touch to the stone, highlighting their specific qualities through this subdued process.
The simplicity of each table is misleading. For example, if we take the legs, those of the rectangular dining table look like a conventional four-cornered leg but if you look closely you will see that they are, in fact, curved. This not only creates a sense of the leg drawing back, but also has the effect of lightening the table itself.
For the round table Michael placed the three legs just far enough to ensure stability, drawn together at the centre to create a three-part column.
Please note that we do not recommend placing these tables outside.
